Richard Wood is a Cardiff-based documentary photographer and photojournalist, specializing in historical and social issues. He holds an MA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography with Distinction from London College of Communication, University of the Arts London.

Richard’s work explores the intersection of neurodiversity, disability, and societal attitudes toward differently-abled individuals. His project, A Dark Road Without Horizon, explores the history of the Aktion T4 atrocity in National Socialist Germany and earned him the Photomonitor Commendation Award at the 2024 Free Range exhibition.

With a deep commitment to uncovering hidden histories, Richard’s projects aim to present these narratives to contemporary audiences as a stark reminder of past atrocities and the importance of social care and inclusivity. His extensive research acts as a post-factum witness to the attitudes and crimes committed, encouraging reflection on current social attitudes toward disability.

Alongside his documentary work, Richard has also made significant contributions to the UK and international comedy circuits, capturing live performances, music, and behind-the-scenes moments for a range of comedy and entertainment outlets.
